Prominent Members Of Makkal Needhi Maiam Resigned !! Party Reacts

Prominent members of Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam announced that they are resigning from the party. The decision came from the politicians after the party failed to win any of the seats in the Tamil nadu assembly election. Vice President Mahendran, in his press release said that there is no change in the approach of Kamal Haasan in taking the party forward even after the huge loss.

In his long note, Mahendran blamed the “Sankhya solutions” and its administrators for the loss of MNM and expressed his wish of Kamal Haasan changing his mindset of believing them. “With a heavy heart but a clear mind, I am resigning from the post of Vice President and as a Primary Member of the Makkal Needhi Maiam party. I have listed down all the reasons that have compelled me to take this tough yet moral decision.” Mahendran wrote while making his announcement.

Along with him, many other party administrators including Ponraj are resigning from the party, it was reported. Muruganandam, Maurya IPS, Thangavel, Umadevi, C K Kumaravel, Sekhar and Suresh iyer are some of the important members who removed themselves from the party. While interacting with the press, Ponraj said that the party needs to be reformed.
“We have tested ourselves. New administrators will be appointed. We have provided all the rights to leader Kamal Haasan and removed ourselves from the party.” Ponraj said according to News 18. Meanwhile, an official press note was released from the official twitter handle of Makkal Needhi Maiam.

“Party’s executive committee meeting took place at the head office under the leadership of Kamal Haasan. In the meeting, everything about the election results, strengthening the party’s structure, reforming activities were discussed” the press note said.
“At the meeting party members including Doctor R. Mahendran, M. Muruganantham, Maurya IPS (retd), Thangavel, Umadevi, CK Kumaravel, Sekar, Suresh Iyer submitted their resignation letters. They have updated that the decision of accepting their letters and taking actions about it belongs to our leader.”
“Leader will review the resignation letters of party’s prominent administrators soon” the official press release of Makkal Needhi Maiam read.

This decision from the prominent members of the Kamal-led party left people talking about it. In the Tamil nadu assembly election, MNM gained a vote share of 2.52 percent without winning a single seat in 234 constituencies. Kamal Haasan was defeated in the Coimbatore South constituency. It was BJP’s Vanathi Srinivasan who garnered 1500 votes more than him at the end of counting of the votes polled in the recently held Tamil nadu assembly election. Kamal was in leading till 6 PM on the counting day and the result was announced as Vanathi as the winner at 9 PM.
