Project K First Look of Prabhas Receives Backlash and Twitter Reacts: Makers Respond with Revised Poster
ACTOR PRABHAS
Project K, an upcoming Indian film starring Prabhas, generated significant buzz when its first look was released on Wednesday. However, the initial response from fans and social media users was far from positive, with many expressing disappointment and criticism regarding the use of graphics and the overall quality of the poster. As the negative reactions gained momentum, the makers decided to take swift action and removed the first look, only to release a revised version in response to the backlash.
The first look of Prabhas from Project K showcased the actor with a top bun and a fully armed, robotic-looking body. He gazed directly at the camera while the caption “What is Project K” appeared in the background. Unfortunately, the heavy use of graphics in the poster led to comparisons with Prabhas’ previous film, Adipurush, and many users on Twitter suggested that the poster resembled a fan-made creation rather than an official promotional material.

Upon the release of the initial poster, Twitter erupted with humorous reactions and scathing remarks. Some users questioned the allocation of significant budgets to Prabhas’ films when the promotional assets appeared subpar. The comments highlighted the importance of maintaining high production standards, especially for movies with ambitious claims of being India’s biggest films. Users also pointed out that even basic editing seemed lacking in the first look, leading to further ridicule.

Amidst the uproar, the makers decided to take action by removing the first look poster and replaced it with a revised version.
The updated first look of Prabhas in Project K retained the same pose but appeared brighter, making the overall visual more appealing. Importantly, the controversial “What is Project K” caption was removed, possibly to refocus the audience’s attention on the character rather than arousing curiosity about the film’s premise. Fans expressed relief that the revised poster looked more realistic, with visible details like the neck making Prabhas’ appearance seem less artificially superimposed.

Some even questioned the unit’s carelessness in handling the film’s promotion, suggesting that such an oversight could impact viewers’ expectations.

Despite the initial backlash, Project K aims to make a grand debut at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2023, becoming the first-ever Indian film to achieve this feat. This prestigious platform could provide the movie with international exposure and recognition. To build anticipation, a billboard announcing the film’s first glimpse on July 20 was displayed in Times Square, New York City.

See how much big difference showing a small portion of the neck does – this looks more authentic unlike the previous one where it almost looked like they morphed prabhas face to a body suit
