For posting a condolence message for the demise of George Floyd, actress Priyanka Chopra facing severe criticism in social media platforms. George Floyd, a black man was died on 25th of May after four police officers handcuffed him and pinned him to the ground with their knees. A video of the arrest surfaced online where he can be seen pleading the officers to let him breathe. George was pinned down by the neck by a Minneapolis police officer and died. He laid there, fighting for his life, struggling to breathe, and other officers just stood there and watched.

Protest started taking place across the United States, where a curfew went into effect. Protesters allegedly smashed the windows of , prominent buildings, overturned cars and set fires, with smoke seen raising from near the Washington monument.

Priyanka Chopra who is currently living in US with her husband Nick Jonas, uploaded a post in Instagram with a caption saying that no one should die because of their color. She highlighted the phrase “I can’t breathe” said by George Floyd during his last hours and asked people to sign a petition, in a way of seeking justice for his death. “whatever your circumstances, NO ONE deserves to die, especially at the hands of another because of their skin color. “ her heartwarming caption read.

This post of the actress doesn’t go well with the people of India as they felt that she is voicing out only because it is a crime that took place in US.
