The massive hike in the petrol and diesel prices left people of the country devastated with Internet users slamming the union government with trolls and criticisms. On July 3rd, Saturday, Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged across the four metro cities, as per the data released by the Indian Oil Corporation. On Monday, petrol and diesel prices have been hiked again for the second consecutive day. Petrol and diesel prices across the country have been increased by 35 paise and 36 paise respectively. Petrol cost in Mumbai is the highest among metro cities, retailing at ₹105.92 per litre, while a litre of diesel costs ₹96.91.

Now, he came up with a clarification saying that Oil companies are fixing the price for Petrol after the final decision of Union government on Petrol price. He further said that the information on Union government’s price for petrol is Rs. 52. 75 is completely fake. “Union government can only levy the tax. Cess = 31.50 + Excise = 1.40. Totally Union government levies 32. 90 as tax. In the excise tax, 42 % (58 paise) belongs to states. Polimer news has been exposed as they have tried cheating people by manipulating a fact that is known for all” PTR’s tweet read.
