Director Lokesh Kanagaraj “liked” a tweet of a twitter user who requested him to give a quality product through “Vikram” for Kollywood audience as some of the recent films of top heroes including Rajnikant, Vijay and Ajith didn’t impress people as per the expectation.

After directing Vijay in “Master”, Lokesh Kanagaraj is currently working on his next project titled “Vikram” with Kamal Haasan. The highly anticipated project is going to have Vijay Sethupathi and Fahad Fasil in pivotal roles.

As soon as “Beast” got released with bad reviews from the critics, all heads turned towards “Vikram”, the only big project that is going to be released in near future. Due to the pressure imposed by RRR and KGF, Tamil cinema is expected to have a pan India blockbuster as soon as possible to prove its worth.

“Beast” of Thalapathy which was expected to compete with “KGF”, had a massive opening with Rs. 38 crore collection on the first day in Tamil Nadu alone. However, the bad word of mouth is expected to reduce the film’s theatrical run. “Annatthe” of Superstar Rajinikanth failed to impress the audience and the recently released “Valimai” of Ajith kumar didn’t meet the expectation level as well.

Despite of providing two globally acclaimed films “Soorarai Pottru” and “Jai bhim” to OTT, Suriya’s “Etharkum Thuninthavan” disappointed the audience through its cliched first half and predictable second half. Vikram settled with OTT for his “Mahaan” and renowned directors of Tamil cinema such as Shankar, A. R Murugadoss opted for other languages as well.

With Maniratham’s “Ponniyin Selvan”, “Vikram” of Lokesh Kanagaraj has been creating ripples through its promotional teasers and posters. Tamil cinema fans who are desperately waiting for a good content oriented film for a long time, has been expressing their expectation over “Vikram” to create wave across India through their posts and tweets.
