Actor Maran who is known among audience for appearing in Tamil films as a supporting actor, died of COVID 19 virus on Wednesday morning. He was getting treatment at the Chengalpet government hospital and got admitted there two days ago, according to reports. He succumbed to the disease on 12th of May and the news came in as a huge shock to the members of Tamil film industry.

Maran who hailed from Naththam of Chengalpet district, shared screen space with some of the renowned actors of the industry. It is reported that he got contracted to the virus recently and was admitted to the government hospital near his home two days ago. Maran’s mortal remains will be cremated by the government officials, says reports.

Maran acted as actor Vijay’s friend in films such as “Gilli”, “Kuruvi” and “Vettaikaaran”. His role as “Adhivasi” in “Gilli” gained attention from the audience. Boss Engira Baskaran, Thalainagaram, Dishoom, KGF are some of the notable films he has been a part of. The 48 year old actor was acting in Pa. Ranjith’s most awaited “Sarpatta Paramparai” before dying and the filmmaker came up with a heartfelt tweet to express his emotions regarding the demise of Maran.

Sharing his posted from his upcoming film, Ranjith, in his tweet, wrote that the demise of Maran is insurmountable. “You have poured endless love on us brother, I can’t console your daughter who cried saying that they didn’t show your face to her. Be safe my friends” Ranjith said in his tweet writing “கடக்க முடியாத துயரம்..எப்போதும் கட்டுகடங்காத அன்பை பொழியும் மாறன் அண்ணாவே, உன் முகத்தை கூட காட்டவில்லை என்று உன் மகள் அழுகிறாள் ணா!! என்னிடம் தேற்றுவதற்கு வார்த்தைகள் இல்லை!! நண்பர்களே பாதுகாப்பாக இருங்கள் !!” his tweet read.
