From opener Gautam Gambhir to spinner Harbhajan Singh, a number of former Indian cricketers has posted tweets expressing their displeasure over team India’s batting performance in the virtual knockout that took place for the team against New Zealand. Virender Sehwag, in his tweet, said that the body language of team India was not great and criticized the poor shot selection of the players.

“This game was literally like a quarter final. The problem is with the mental toughness of the side. Suddenly when you know you have got to win the game and can’t make mistakes, in bilaterals it’s different because you can make mistakes there. But in these kind of games, I don’t think India has got mental strength”, Gautam Gambhir, former Indian opener who helped team India to win two world cups said after witnessing India’s performance.
“They have the skill and are a very dangerous side. But, unfortunately, we can keep talking about it that we need to stand by our time when it’s not doing well but it’s been a trend and it is happening for a very long time in most of these ICC tournaments. When it mattered the most for someone to put his hand up, they just couldn’t” Gambhir added.
Former destructive opener Virender Sehwag, while tweeting about the match, said “Very disappointing from India. NZ were amazing. India’s body language wasn’t great, poor shot selection & like few times in the past, New Zealand have virtually ensured we won’t make it to the next stage. This one will hurt India & time for some serious introspection” to express his disappointment.

“Disappointing batting to say the least” Irfan Pathan said in his tweet and went on to add “In any big tournament you can’t change the playing 11 in just one game and get desired results. Players need stability And I’m surprised this is happening with some big names taking decisions”

However, players from other countries such as Kevin Pietersen, Mohammad Asif and others uploaded tweets asking Indian fans not to be so harsh on the players.
India still have an outside chance of qualifying for semis but with how they have played their two big games in the event, it will be nothing but a miracle to see them qualify. @T20WorldCup

I still believe India is a best team its just a matter of having good time or bad time but abusing player's and their family is such a shame don't forget end of the day it's just a game of cricket.
