Noida: In a startling incident that unfolded in Greater Noida, a woman who was reportedly in the process of learning to drive found herself at the center of a distressing scene. The incident, captured on CCTV cameras, involved the woman driver colliding with security guards stationed at the entrance of a residential society. What followed was a series of heated interactions with onlookers, raising questions about responsible driving and accountability.

The incident occurred during daylight hours, around 1 PM, as the woman and her daughter attempted to enter the society. The CCTV footage reveals a lone woman behind the wheel of an old Honda City, attempting a U-turn. However, her judgment seemed to falter, leading to a collision with the podium meant to house security guards at the society’s gate. Shockingly, the vehicle even drove over the security guards, resulting in injuries.

As a crowd gathered, the woman quickly called her daughter, who was also present within the society premises. The two women engaged in a verbal confrontation with onlookers and the other security guards who had rushed to the scene. Their behavior was marked by defiance and aggression, as they challenged the bystanders to take the injured individuals to the hospital if they were truly concerned.

Remarkably, the incident unfolded despite the fact that the woman was supposedly in the process of learning how to drive. In India, where the incident occurred, learner drivers are required to display a prominent “L” marking on their vehicles, indicating their status as novice drivers. This serves as a precautionary measure for others on the road. Additionally, a licensed driver is mandated to accompany the learner during practice sessions. However, the absence of these indications on the woman’s car suggests a failure to adhere to these guidelines.

The daughter’s behavior further escalated the situation, as she began to argue loudly with the onlookers. The crowd implored them to ensure that the injured security guards received prompt medical attention. Despite this, the two women persisted in their confrontational stance, insisting that if people genuinely cared about the injured, they should personally transport them to the hospital. This approach seemed to be an attempt to handle the matter internally and avoid external involvement.

The consequences of the incident were swift. The police from the Bisrakh Police Station took charge of the situation. A complaint was registered against the woman for negligent driving, which had resulted in injuries to three individuals: Umesh Kumar, a Maruti Vipul Services agent; Vijay Kumar, a Swiggy delivery boy; and a female security guard. The victims were rushed to LYF Hospital for treatment. While Vijay Kumar suffered a fracture in his right leg, the other two victims sustained relatively minor injuries. Thankfully, all three were reported to be out of danger.
