New Lockdown Restrictions In TN Amidst COVID 19 Spread !! Details Here

Due to the increase in COVID 19 cases, The Tamil nadu government has announced a new set of restrictions on Thursday. The restrictions includes banning religious events, limiting crowd gatherings, allowing 50 % of people at public places such as malls, restaurants etc. The restrictions comes into effect from 10th of April.

The announcement comes after two days of Tamil nadu assembly elections and the active cases in the state are 27,000. Religious congregations and Carnival will be banned from 10th of April. E-pass will continue to be implemented for those travelling from other states and countries.

Retail outlets in Koyambedu wholesale vegetable and fruit market in Chennai and whole vegetable and fruit markets in other parts of the state will not function from 10th of April. Complete lockdown will be enforced without any relaxations in containment zones across the state.

In public and government transport, only seated passengers are allowed. Standing passengers are restricted from travelling in public transports. Industries shall be permitted to function by strictly following SOPs. Usage of mask wearing and hand sanitizers are mandatory as usual and 50 % capacity of customers is allowed in grocery stores, shopping malls and other establishments.

Shop were ordered to close by 11 PM. Entertainment parks, amusement parks, big auditoriums, zoos, museums and other public spaces were allowed to permit only 50% of people capacity. Movie theatres including multiplexes were allowed to permit only 50% seating capacity. A total number of 200 persons for social, educational, entertainment, sports and cultural programs are allowed in Indoor stadium.

Only 100 people are allowed to take part in wedding ceremonies and 50 at funeral related events. Sporting events and Sport trainings are allowed without audiences. Exhibition halls should be permitted only for business to business purpose.

Only with established precautions, shooting of small screen productions and films can continue, announced the government. Organisers must ensure that RT-PCR tests are conducted on those involved in the shooting and that they are vaccinated. Only three passengers allowed other than driver in rented vehicles and only two passengers were allowed other than driver in auto rickshaws. For the people who travel to the state from other places should have E-pass, the announcement said. It is notable that no restriction is made for liquor shops in the state.
