Actor Vijay grabbed headlines after appearing at the polling booth in Neelangarai to cast his vote in the urban civil poll election. His gesture of asking apology to the public for causing inconvenience unintentionally was lauded by his fans and public. Meanwhile, a number of online users including some of he media portals and movie trackers accused the actor of not updating his car insurance. Responding to the same, Vijay nodded to his manager on releasing the copy of the car insurance in order to make the allegations false.
The incident of Vijay arriving to the polling booth took place on 19th of February. As soon as entering the poll, he was surrounded by his fans and media at the venue. After realizing that he caused inconvenience to the public, the actor asked “sorry” to hem on the spot and the video of the incident went viral across he social media platforms.

In the meantime, a number of online users claimed that the insurance payment of the car which Vijay used to reach polling station was not paid. Uploading pictures of a website which had unpaid challan under Vijay’s name for not renewing his car’s insurance, online users criticized the “Mersal” actor. “Actor #Vijay came in red Maruti Celerio to cast his vote. Sadly, the car’s insurance validity was over in 2020 and an unpaid challan in 2021 as per RTO portal” said Manobala Vijayan, twitter bio of whom says that he is a Film industry tracker.

Many other news portals ad online users claimed the same and condemned Vijay. Now, actor Vijay’s publicist Riaz K Ahmed came up with a post in his official twitter handle, clarifying that the insurance is valid till 28th of May this year.
“For the past few days, a news stating that #ThalapathyVijay’s car insurance is still due has been doing the rounds on social media. Here is a copy of the insurance, in which it is clearly stated that the insurance is valid till May 28, 2022!” read the tweet of Riaz.

On the work front, Vijay completed shooting for “Beast” directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and is busy working on his bilingual project which is going to be directed by Vamshi Paidipally. Touted to be a feel good family drama, the film is going to see Vijay essaying a double role with Thaman composing music for it. “Beast” is expected to hit screens during the end of April month. Makers of the film had released the film’s first single “Arabic Kuthu” recently and it is ruling the playlists of youngsters.
