The incident took place when Jeevan was reprimanded by his mother Shubha after she found photos of him smoking a cigarette. In the video, he can be heard threatening his mother to go ahead and file a police complaint against him, while beating her with the broom. Fed up with his repeated assaults and the behaviour, the parents have filed a complaint against the son at Chennammanakere Achchukattu Police Station in Bengaluru.

Taking suo motu cognisance, the Bengaluru city police have registered a case at the JP Nagar police station. The police have filed an FIR under IPC 324 (Voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (Assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 509 (Insult to modesty of a woman) and under sections of the COPTA Act (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act).

According to latest reports, the women’s commission has taken up the issue and has promised necessary action against the guilty.  The State Women’s Commission headed by chairperson Nagalakshmi said that they have taken up the issue and promised strict action. The women’s commission said it has taken the issue seriously and will take proper action after questioning.

It is also said that he is in a relationship with a minor and when parents questioned about the same, he started beating up his mother.

Even the DCP has promised legal action against the boy.
