September 15, 2021 marks the 113-th birthday of Conjeevaram Natarajan Annadurai who is fondly called by his followers and people of Tamil nadu as “Anna”. He served as the fifth and last Chief Minister of Madras State from 1967 until 1969 and first Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for 20 days before his death. He was the first member of a Dravidian party to hold either post.

Anna is well known for his oratorical skills and was an acclaimed writer in the Tamil language. He scripted and acted in several plays. Some of his plays were later made into movies. He was the first politician from the Dravidian parties to use Tamil cinema extensively for political propaganda. The leader’s birthday is being widely celebrated across the state, with political party leaders and followers remembering him.

Chief minister MK Stalin uploaded a series of pictures of himself paying respects to the photos of Anna and praised him by associating him with Periyaar.

Actor turned politician Kamal Haasan who is currently leading a party named “Makkal Needhi Maiam”, came up with a tweet wishing the progressive leader for his birthday.

With many wishing the leader through their respective social media accounts, fans of actor Vijay came up with an unique gesture to remember the leader on his birthday. They morphed the picture of actor Vijay in Anna’s picture and said “We want Anna Again” and mention “Thalapathy” as “Anna”. “Anna born to work for the country and was keen on doing social service. To clean our debts, We want a Tamilian like you Anna” read the poster which had the morphed picture of actor Vijay in Anna’s.

The poster was pasted by the fans of actor Vijay who belong to Madurai district. They who have been waiting for the actor to enter politics, are involving in such activities for a long activities. Vijay who keeps politics based dialogues in his films and makes his opinion on Tamil nadu politics in the audio launches of his films, hasn’t made any announced about it yet.
