Movie promotion is as much of an art as making the movie itself. And it seems the makers of Tamizh Padam 2.0 are ticking all the right boxes.

Taking its trademark parody culture to a new level, the poster features actor Shiva, the star of the comedy franchise, pulling an O Panneerselvam. Dressed in a crisp white shirt and veshti, Shiva sits meditating in front of a memorial, while a host of photographers click pictures of him in the background.

The teaser of Tamizh Padam 2, sequel to the hilarious parody film that came out in 2010 directed by CS Amudhan, was released on Friday.The 40-second teaser is a laughter-fest, giving us a good idea of the films that have been handpicked by the makers to be parodied. But the cherry on the cake is the uncanny recreation of the swearing in ceremony of Deputy CM O Panneerselvam after Jayalalithaa’s demise.  And it only gets better.

The sequel, being a parody of the cop genre, checks several of the cop films that have released in Tamil in recent years and includes some other blockbusters as well. There are references to Vishal’s Thupparivalan, Vijay’s Thuppaki and Mersal, Ajith’s Mankatha and Vivegam, and Vijay Sethupathi’s Vikram Vedha. The conspicuous absence of the Singam franchise makes one hope it has a special place in the main film, or perhaps the trailer.

Yesterday the director tweeted picture of his producer’s where he seen upset. As we all know this is their way of promoting the movie but the reaction of the fans are absolute laughter. Check out the director’s tweet and fans reaction :

Today a mega update released by the director of the movie. As this Tamizh Padam’s sequel titled as Tamizh padam 2.0 previously , the crew decided to change the title. Check out the tweet of the director regarding this below :

The director says as there is no value for Zero (Tamizh Padam 2.0), the film will be simply called as Tamizh Padam 2 hereafter. He also released the post as press release. check out some of the hilarious replies from the fans :
