For kissing his wife while taking bath at “Ram ki Paudi” in the Saryu river located in Ayodhya, a man got beaten mercilessly by a mob as they believed that the act of the couple was “vulgar”. The video is trending in social media platforms with the users of the same reacting in various ways.

“Ram ki Paidi”, which was developed on the lines of “Har Ki Paidi” in Harodwar, Uttrakhand was renovated recently. Known as the popular destination for the pilgrims and other tourists, the place is considered as a devotional one by the believers of Hindu religion. It is a ritual among them to take bath in the sacred Sayru river during their visit to Ayothya.

The matter came to light after the video of the newly wed couple did numbers in online portals during Wednesday. In the viral video which is making sensation across the nation, the husband who was bathing in the river with his wife and did something that is similar to “kissing” her, was dragged out of the water by the youths and was showered with blows.

“This vulgarity will not be allowed in Ayodhya”, one of the youths who was beating the man with his friends shouted. The terrified wife tried to save her husband only to let her attempts go in vain as the mob looked insanely aggressive, according to reports.

“The incident took place about a week back” said a senior police official in town, according to reports. “We have not received any complaint so far in this regard. We are trying to identify the couple. We will take action if a complaint is lodged” the officer further said, as per the reports.
