Man Asked Why “Item Song” After Becoming Mother ?? : Kasthuri Accused The Whole “Tamils” For His Question !!

By Dhiwaharan
The teaser of Tamizh Padam 2, sequel to the howlarious parody film that came out in 2010 directed by CS Amudhan, was released on Friday. The 40-second teaser is a laughter-fest, giving us a good idea of the films that have been handpicked by the makers to be parodied. But the cherry on the cake is the uncanny recreation of the swearing in ceremony of Deputy CM O Panneerselvam after Jayalalithaa’s demise. And it only gets better.

The sequel, being a parody of the cop genre, checks several of the cop films that have released in Tamil in recent years and includes some other blockbusters as well. There are references to Vishal’s Thupparivalan, Vijay’s Thuppaki and Mersal, Ajith’s Mankatha and Vivegam, and Vijay Sethupathi’s Vikram Vedha. The conspicuous absence of the Singam franchise makes one hope it has a special place in the main film, or perhaps the trailer.
The film stars Shiva, Disha Pandey, Ishwarya Menon and actress Kasthuri will hit the screens this July.

The teaser also consisted a glimpse of actress Kasthuri shaking her leg infront of a police jeep in a sleeveless saree while rain pouring on her. Kasthuri also starred in a very famous “item song” “Kuthuvilakku” , which took place in the first part of the movie. As it is the sequel, it is obvious that she again opted by the makers to perform a similar song. The song might also be a parody of most of the “item songs” of Kollywood movies that takes place in an irrelevant situation of a movie which leaves most of the audience frustrated.
After the teaser release a fan saw Kasthuri’s glimpse and took twitter to question her as “Is it right to do a item dance after being a responsible mother???”
Is it right to do a item dance after being a responsible mother???

Furious Kasthuri replied to his tweet and showed her anger by accusing the mindset of whole “Tamil people”
This is the typical “Tamil” mindset that I am hellbent on changing. That looking sexy is opposite of brainy, or motherly , or virtuous.
Do we ever ask a male actor why he acts in drinking scenes/ dances in sexy songs / romance sequences after having kids ? https://t.co/lVOw48xJX3

For her tweet most of the Tamil people reacted in various way to express their emotions, even one of her follower asked “is it ok if your child see it” and Kasthuri replied to him as well. Here’s their conversation:
He might be concerned about your child seeing the item dance! It applies equally to men also.

my child attended the shooting. I am doing nothing wrong. Nothing to be ashamed of.

Its not Tamil, its very Indian or rather part of Asia.Japan and. M.east has it but not Singapore or Hong Kong. Tie down women citing mootherhood& security. Its changing, Fortunately Indian women have shown they r equal or if not better in all that men can do. So future is bright

Don’t use the same brush to paint all tamils.

Where does ‘Tamil’ come into picture? Why do you pull Tamil in this one?

Hey @KasthuriShankar you call as Typical Tamil mindset. We call as Tamil culture.

I agree with your views, the only point of disagreement is use of the phrase ‘typical Tamil Mindset’.. One person’s terrible mindset can’t b equated with that of an entire state..
— Ashesh Sinha (@asheshsim) June 2, 2018
I don’t think it’s exclusively Tamil mindset. May be the common trait in all conservative societies. Victorian spillover to India also made us conservative in some aspects.
