According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Jivba Dalvi, the woman and the accused had initially met on a flight where they struck up a conversation and subsequently exchanged phone numbers. Their communication continued over the phone, and earlier this week, both individuals independently traveled to Goa. On the fateful day, the accused reportedly contacted the woman and invited her to the resort he was staying at, under the pretext of showcasing the amenities.

Trusting the connection they had established, the woman visited the resort. However, instead of a friendly interaction, the accused allegedly took her to his room and committed the heinous act of rape. The prompt response from law enforcement was evident as they immediately formed police teams to investigate the complaint. The accused was subsequently apprehended at Thivim village, situated near Mapusa town in North Goa.
