On Staurday, Suresh Kamathi, producer of Simbu-Venkat Prabhu’s “Maanaadu”, came up with a tweet expressing his dejection over the distributors not submitting the collection details to him. The film producer said that it makes him feel there’s no wrong in Actors and Producers approaching OTT platforms for the release of their films. The tweet came a day before “Maanaadu” was marking its 75th day in theatres since release.
Maanaadu released on 25th of November in theatres with huge expectations among fans. The film became the first one to release under the “time loop” genre and became a massive success in the box office. Plot of “Maanaadu” revolves around Abdul Khaliq (played by Simbu) getting stuck within a day and realizing that he has a purpose of exposing the corrupted policemen and politicians who are using religion for their personal profit.
On seeing Policeman Dhanush kodi causing a religious riot to kill the chief minister and putting the blame on an individual who belongs to Muslim community to right off the murder, Abdul Khaliq finds a way to expose him and the politician whom he gets orders from to Chief minister before dies. In the process, Khaliq dies several times to restart the day to execute his new plans as a result which the makers were forced to repeat scenes in order to make the Tamil audience understand about “Time loop”
The film became a huge success among the mainstream audience as Prabhu made the complicated plot with a screenplay that is as simple as possible in order make even the “C” centre audience to enjoy. On Saturday, Producer Suresh Kamatchi came up with a tweet expressing his disappointment over the distributors of “Maanaadu”.
“Tomorrow is 75th day of “Maanaadu”. The film is going to be celebrated in Rohini theatres. Even after 75 days of theatrical run, distributors failed to submit the accounts. If a film which got success is facing such issue, what would be the state of other films ? How could I do business ??” Suresh Kamatchi said in his tweet.
“This is making me think that what’s wrong in actors and producers approaching OTT platforms for the release of their films” Suresh Kamatchi said in his tweet.

In my view tamilnadu theatre potential will be apprx 150 cr for hit movie, so if u get some good price in OTT sell it. If u want more profit then u have to run in theatres
