Lokesh Kanagaraj’s assistant director Vishnu Edavan who worked in films such as “Master”, “Vikram”, landed in trouble after a woman filed complaint against him at the Thirumangalam All Women Police Station in Chennai. According to News 18, Vishnu was involved in a romantic relationship with the complainant and made her pregnant. Now, the woman approached Police officials to get him married, according to reports.

Vishnu Edavan rose to fame after working in the films of director Lokesh Kanagaraj as assistant director and as a lyricist. He penned lyrics for the most popular “Porkanda Singam”, “Naayagan Meendum Vara” that featured in the Kamal Haasan starrer. He also wrote lyrics for “Kutty Story” that featured in “Master”. He is expected to work in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s upcoming directorial “Leo” as well. He received widespread accolades from fans and from the important personalities of the industry for the works he has done so far.

The reports suggests that Vishnu agreed to marry his girlfriend initially but now denied to tie the traditional which is meant for Tamil marriages. His denial has led the pregnant woman to seek help from the Police, says reports. News 18 says that the emerging filmmaker is yet to make a statement on the same and is currently unavailable to comment on the allegation that is made against him.

Through her complaint, the woman stated that they were in love and were planning to get married with the approval of both of their parents. They also started making arrangements for their marriage, said the complainant, according to reports. However, the young upcoming filmmaker abandoned her, regarding which the Police have started their investigation.

Born in Coimbatore, Vishnu Edavan who made short films during the initial stage of his career, worked as assistant director for Lokesh Kanagaraj since his “Kaithi” movie. He also wrote for a music video starring Arjun das and Lavanya Tripathi which was titled as “Pottum Pogattume”. In an interactive session that took place for Film companion South YouTube channel, director Vignesh Shivan recognized Vishnu Edavan’s works as a lyric writer and also inquired about his contact to director Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Lokesh Kanagaraj who debuted in the year 2017, grabbed the attention of Tamil audience through “Maanagaram”, a hyperlink drama set in Chennai city. During the final stages of the post production work of his second film “Kaithi”, Lokesh got an opportunity to direct actor Vijay, one of the very few highest paid actors in Indian film industry.

After impressing the “Bigil” star with his intriguing script, Lokesh Kanagaraj decided to cast the busiest Vijay Sethupathy in the antagonist role. While emerging filmmakers are in desperation to work with any one of these stars, Lokesh managed get both of them on board for his third film. The film which got released after 1 year of its completion due to COVID 19 outbreak, did well in the box office.

His third film Vikram  which released with much expectations from fans, exceeded them all we must say. The film which released with an ensemble cast, became the most profitable film in the history of Tamil cinema. Sequel of the film is expected to go on floors soon and the face off between Kamal Haasan as “Vikram” and Suriya as “Rolex” is highly anticipated in it. Now, Lokesh kanagaraj and Vishnu edavanare expected to join hands in Thalapathy’s upcoming film “Leo”, shooting of which is currently taking place in Kashmir with the cast and crew.
