Leading Director Condemned The Release Of Other Language Films In Tamil nadu !!

Leading Kollywood filmmaker Seenu Ramasamy who is known for delivering films such as “Dharmadurai”, “Neer Paravai”, “Kanne Kalaimaane” condemned the release of other language films in Tamil nadu. The director who felt that the films which were made originally in Tamil language are struggling to get screens, due to the release of other language films, requested producers council to created a separate schedule for the release of other language films and dubbing films. Director Cheran extended his support to Seenu Ramasamy, tweet of whom became a subject to criticism.

Along with Tamil films such as “Rocky”, “Aanantham Vilayadum Veedu”, “Writer”, dubbing films “Pushpa”, “83” and “Shyam Singha Roy” were also released during last week. “Spiderman-No way home” which is also available in Tamil version, is running successfully in the theatres of Tamil nadu. Seenu Ramasamy who felt that the films that were not originally made in Tamil are occupying more screens, vented his emotions out by uploading a tweet requesting the producers council to create a scedule for the release of other language films.

Seenu said that Tamil nadu theatres should give preferences to Tamil films like how neighbouring states such as Kerala and Karnataka are prioritizing the films that were made in their language. “To release the other language films and dubbing films, Producers council should create a time schedule” Seenu Ramasamy asked through his tweet.

The filmmaker tagged ace director Bharathi Raja, Thenandal Murali and mentioned director RK Selvamani in his tweet.

On seeing the director’s tweet, a follower said that actor Vijay Sethupathi and DMK supporters will call him a “racist”. Replying to the tweet, Seenu Ramasamy said that it is not “racism” and he is not the one who hates others. He also asked the follower to read his tweet fully.

The director also came up with a new tweet, indirectly saying that films such as “Aanantham Vilayadum Veedu” and “Writer” are struggling to get screens due to the release of “Pushpa”, “83” and “Spiderman” with huge publicity. “Don’t release all of them at once. Why can’t we think about releasing them one by one ?? That’s my question” Seenu Ramasamy said in his tweet.

Director Cheran supported Seenu Ramasamy’s opinion and requested Chief minister of Tamil nadu to allot more screens for films that are made in Tamil language.

Reacting to Cheran’s tweet, Seenu Ramasamy said that new comers will get affected due to the domination of other language films. “For the films that were made of small budget has only one option and that is Tamil nadu theatres and the collection of first three days. Just separate the release of both kind of films” the filmmaker said.
