When the Indian film industry couldn’t get over the demise of actor Irrfan Khan, one more sad news left them in utter shock. Actor Rishi Kapoor who is known for his work in Bollywood film industry, died at the age of 67 due to cancer on Thursday. An official statement from the family of the legendary actor said that he “remained jovial” and “Kept doctors entertained till the end”. He fought a long battle with cancer and had spent much of last year in New York being treated.

Condolence message from all over the social media platform surfaced. Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote “Multifaceted, endearing and lively…this was Rishi Kapoor Ji. He was a powerhouse of talent. I will always recall our interactions, even on social media. He was passionate about films and India’s progress. Anguished by his demise. Condolences to his family and fans. Rishi Kapoor began his career as a child artist in his father Raj Kapoor’s 1970 film “Mera Naam Joker”. Three years later he appeared as a leading hero in a film named as “Bobby”. Soon after the release of “Bobby”, Rishi Kapoor became an unavoidable romantic hero at that time. Mr. Kapoor married to Neetu kapoor in the year 1980. The couple had two children son, actor Ranbir Kapoor, and daughter, Riddhima Kapoor Sahani.

Rishi Kapoor was last seen in 2019 films The Body and Jhootha Kahin Ka. He was also supposed to appear in the Bollywood adaptation of The Intern with Deepika Padukone.
