Kriti Sanon, the talented Bollywood actress, has been making waves in the film industry with her exceptional performances and stunning beauty. Recently, she clinched the prestigious National Award for Best Actress for her role in the film “Mimi.” However, Kriti’s journey to stardom was not without its share of challenges and setbacks. In a recent interview with Curly Tales, she opened up about her early days in the industry, a humiliating experience with a choreographer, and how having a plan B shaped her career.
Kriti Sanon reminisced about her first ramp show, an event that marked her early entry into the world of glamour and fame. She vividly recalled the humiliation she faced when a choreographer scolded her in front of a crowd of 50 models. The incident left a lasting impact on her, and she revealed, “My first ramp show, the choreographer, I have never worked with her again, she was very rude to me because I messed up the choreography. It was at some farmhouse and heels were getting stuck into the grass, and it was my first time. Terrible. I started crying because she was scolding me in front of 50 models and very rudely. I was holding it for long but I cry the moment someone shouts at me.”
This painful experience, early in her career, could have demoralized many, but Kriti Sanon’s determination and resilience shone through as she persevered in the competitive world of showbiz.
Kriti, coming from a middle-class, non-film background, understood the concerns of her parents. To reassure them and have a backup plan in case her acting career didn’t take off, she decided to take the GMAT exam while trying her luck in Mumbai. This strategic move provided her parents with a sense of security regarding her future. She explained, “I understand the concerns of my parents coming from a middle-class, non-film family. What happens when you have a plan B is that you are not desperate anymore. You are passionate but you are not desperate. It’s a very thin line.”
