Key Points To Be Noted In Tamil Nadu Budget 2022 !!

On Friday, MK Stalin led DMK government presented it’s first full fledged budget for Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu finance minister Palanivel Thiagarajan delivered a speech that lasted 110 minutes for the Budget 2022. The revenue deficit is estimated at Rs. 52, 781.85 crore in 2022-23. Check out some of the key points to be noted from the budget presented by Tamil nadu finance minister Palanivel Thiagarajan :
Rs. 500 crore has been allocated for flood mitigation projects in Chennai.
The Tamil Nadu government has alloted Rs. 1000 crore for upgrading 19 government hospitals as district government hospitals.
For the Public Distribution system in the state, Rs. 7500 has been allocated.
Rs. 492.56 crore has been allocated for the state’s fire and rescue department.
The Tamilnadu government has allocated Rs. 17,901 crore for the state’s public welfare department.
For the state’s school education department, Rs. 36,895.89 crore has been allocated.
Finance minister Palanivel Thiagarajan said that the government will set up a knowledge city in the state and that book fairs will now be conducted in all districts.
Now, the Tamil Nadu government will provide a monthly allowance of Rs. 1000 for girl students from government schools who pursue higher education. The scheme will be applicable for students who have studied in government schools from class 6 to 12. “This is expected to increase the enrollment of girls in higher education. Will benefit 5 lakh girl students” Finance minister said.
For the centre’s Jal Jeevan scheme, the Tamilnadu government has allocated Rs. 3,000 crore.
With a budget of Rs. 10 crore, “Project Nigiri Tahr” to be implemented as per the statement of Finance Minister Palanivel Thiagarajan.
For “Singara Chennai 2.0” project, a budget of Rs. 500 crore has been allocated.
For Mahatma Gandhi Rural Employment Guarantee Act scheme for the financial year 2022-23, state Tamil Nadu has allocated Rs. 2,800 crore.
Rs. 2,169 crore has been allocated for solid waste management projects in the state.
Tamil nadu finance minister Palanivel Thiagarajan said that assistance will be provided for the students who discontinued their education in Ukraine.
Tamil Nadu government is also going to set up a mobile information centres for migrant workers. In the first phase, areas covered will include Kancheepuram, Tirupur and Thiruvallur.
State Tamil Nadu is going to provide 2000 electric buses this year, according to the Tamil Nadu Budget 2022.
PTR Palanivel Thiagarajan said that the total capital expenditure is expected to be at Rs. 43, 832. 54 crore, which is 23.8% than the revised estimate.
Tamilnadu government has allocated Rs. 50 crores for the chief minister’s “Naan Mudhalvan” scheme, that looks to upgrade skills of students.
Rs. 1,019 crore allocated to improve quality of medical care in Tamil Nadu.
