Actor turned Politician Kamal Haasan is busy campaigning for his political party “Makkal Needhi Maiam” ahead of the upcoming election in Tamil nadu. He has been visiting various districts across Tamil nadu to gain votes from them for the people. As a part of it, he is also slamming Chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Prime minister Narendra and the leader of opposition MK Stalin based on the governance they did all these years. The Bigg Boss host also promised various things based on the development of the state.

Earlier, while making their promises to the people, the Kamal Haasan led party said that the contribution of homemakers will be recognized through payments for their work at home if his party MNM gets voted to power in the 2021 Tamil nadu assembly elections. The seven-point Governence and Economic Agenda released by Kamal Haasan said “Homemakers will get their due recognition through payment for their work at home which hitherto has been unrecognised and unmonetized, thus raising the dignity of our womenfolk”
Now, supporting the idea of the Tamil nadu based actor, Sashi Tharoor who has been serving as Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, since 2009, came up with a tweet. “I welcome @ikamalhaasan’s idea of recognising housework as a salaried profession, w/the state govt paying a monthly wage to homemakers. This will recognise & monetise the services of women homemakers in society, enhance their power& autonomy & create near-universal basic income.” his tweet read.

Condemning the idea, controversial bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut who is known among Tamil audience for acting with Jayam Ravi in “Dham Dhoom”, came up with a tweet. She said women doesn’t need salary for being a queen of their own kingdom and asked Kamal, Sashi to stop seeing everything as business.

Surrender to your woman she needs all of you not just your love/respect/salary.” her first tweet read.

“It will be worse to reduce a home owner to home employ, to give price tag to mothers sacrifices and life long unwavering commitment,It’s like you want to pay God for this creation, cause you suddenly pity him for his efforts. It’s partially painful and partially funny thought.” she further said while replying to a twitter user.

However, these tweets from the actress didn’t go well with women themselves. Check out some of their reactions :
Says the working woman who probably does little to no house work. We are talking about home makers whose work goes unrecognized. We are talking about adding their contribution to the GDP. You might want to get your facts straight before tweeting next time. https://t.co/9cFUCdq3xx

*stares in horror*
Why the fuck shouldnt homemakers earn money??!! Most women are forced and tortured into quitting their dreams and staying at home. Let them earn money and be their own person https://t.co/mQbaSyvJCS

I don't understand this woman.

She who gets paid in crores, and who posssibly does little to NO HOUSEWORK, wants to stop other homemakers from receiving money? (thinking mainly about domestic abuse victims who can escape)
someone please explain why this woman has this opinion https://t.co/H8hgEB4qiG
Homemakers work 24/7 and are still subject to their husband's whims for their financial needs. All the work they do is taken for granted while they are labelled as being too needy when they need money. I support @ikamalhaasan sir in making our women more financially independent.

She’s a crack pot and she is on a feminist for her own interests , not for other women . Typical desi celeb feminist https://t.co/JJSIlcsfW5

You do not need it @KanganaTeam because you earn in crores, from producers and politicians. You are paid for creating controversies and making news. The salary which @ikamalhaasan is talking about is for OUR women in our Tamil Nadu who are in need. So better keep your mouth shut. https://t.co/EW5TIQukBc
