As soon as Dr. Mahendran announced his resignation from Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam party citing the presence of “Sankhya solutions” in the party, the actor cum politician came up with an unexpected press release accusing the former of being a “traitor” for the party’s growth. Kamal said that Mahendran removed himself from the party, knowing that he will be terminated soon. He also slammed the former vice president of the party, saying that he is trying to seek sympathy.

On the evening of Thursday, Prominent members of Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam announced that they are resigning from the party. The decision came from the politicians after the party failed to win any of the seats in the Tamil nadu assembly election. Vice President Mahendran, in his press release said that there is no change in the approach of Kamal Haasan in taking the party forward even after the huge loss.

In his long note, Mahendran blamed the “Sankhya solutions” and its administrators for the loss of MNM and expressed his wish of Kamal Haasan changing his mindset of believing them. “With a heavy heart but a clear mind, I am resigning from the post of Vice President and as a Primary Member of the Makkal Needhi Maiam party. I have listed down all the reasons that have compelled me to take this tough yet moral decision.” Mahendran wrote while making his announcement.

Reacting to this announcement of him, Kamal Haasan came up with a press note hitting back at Mahendran. “We have witnessed enemies and traitors in the war (Tamil nadu assembly elections) with our own eyes. Everyone wanted to remove the traitors. Dr. R. Mahendran is the first one to be removed from the list of traitors” Kamal Haasan said in his press note.

“He says that there is no democracy in the party. He is the biggest example to prove that democracy would fail at times. He attempted to grab the face of those who gave him the identity” the letter of the actor read. “The only achievement of him is stopping good people from doing their work for the party. It is very well know that the doors of Makkal Needhi Maiam will always be opened for the people who has no talent and honesty. Mahendran is seeking sympathy by accusing others” Kamal said through his note.

“He was brilliant enough to remove himself from the party as he know that he will be terminated. I am happy that he removed himself. I believe that the party will march forward hereafter. My life is a transparent to everyone. I never tried to deny or hide my mistakes. I don’t have to console my party members as they are known for the sacrifices they made. We never bothered about the cowards who fly away after facing failure. There is no chance in policy and the path we chose. Let’s stand together to save our land, language and people.” his post read.
