IPL Star Accused Of R*ping A 17 Year Old Minor Girl !!

IPL star Sandeep Lamicchane who represented Delhi Capitals team in the Indian Premier League and is captaining the Nepal cricket team got accused of raping a 17 year old girl, according to Police reports. The complaint has been filed by the victim and the cricketer is yet to make a statement on the matter.

The minor girl, in her complaint, has alleged that Sandeep raped her on 21st of August at a hotel in Kathmandu. The girl claimed that she met the Nepalese captain through her friend and went to Nagarkot with Lamicchane on 17th of August.
According to Zee News, The teenage girl was a fan of the star leg spinner and she used to talk to him through Whatsapp and Snapchat. She reportedly said that it was Sandeep who first proposed a meeting. The Police report said that the cricketer asked her to go on a trip to Bhaktapur and she agreed.
As the hostel closed at 8 PM, the minor girl was compelled to spend a night with the cricketer at a hotel at the Pingalasthan of Kathmandu, according to Police. It is alleged that the cricketer drugged and raped the minor twice.
The 22 year old cricketer left for Kenya on August 22 to lead his side in the five match T 20 International series against the home side. Nepal won the series by 3-2 and the cricketer left to West Indies to take part in the ongoing Caribbean Premier league.

Now, a report about a 17 year old girl registering complaint against him on the grounds of sexually exploiting her has made headlines. The girl is currently under police protection after she lodged the complaint. She also went through a health check up which was required for her, said the reports. While talking to Nepal’s digital newspaper named Setopati, AIG Rabindra Singh Dhanuk of Kathmandu Valley Police station has confirmed the news.
“A rape complaint has been filed against Sandeep Lamichhane. It’s a minor’s complaint. I will give further information regarding this tomorrow. The victim’s health check up has also been performed this evening” Dhanuk said. Several other officers from Kathmandu Police Range, Kathmandu Valley Police and Nepal Police Headquarters confirmed about the development.

Nepal cricket association is expected to take a strict action against the young cricketer. The cricketer is expected to be summoned to report to the police station amidst the ongoing CPL. The cricketer is yet to make a statement on the allegations as well. So far, the cricketer didn’t get to play any match for the team he is representing in the Caribbean Premier League. It is notable that the cricketer played 9 IPL matches in the years 2018, 2019 and has picked 13 wickets.
