The Tamil Nadu Wildlife Crime Control Bureau imposed a fine of Rs 2.5 lakh on him for keeping two Alexandrine parakeets at his residence in Chennai. These birds, protected under Schedule IV of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, were seized by authorities following a complaint that Shankar’s family had posted videos of the birds on social media.
