Multi faceted Kamal Haasan, on Sunday evening, came up with a press release in his official twitter handle, officially announcing that he is not going to host Bigg Boss Ultimate show anymore due to the shoot of one of his upcoming films “Vikram”. The film which stars leading stars such as Vijay Sethupathi, Fahad Fazil in key roles, seemingly demands extra attention from the actor cum filmmaker who is also bankrolling the project through his production house “Raaj Kamal International”.

The “Virumaandi” actor said that he is just taking a short break from hosting the online version of the celebrity game show and will be seen in the season 6 as host again. Kamal Haasan has successfully hosed 5 seasons of Bigg Boss Tamil and the only episode he missed out was due to the COVID 19 infection he suffered. Ramya Krishnan replaced him in that particular episode.

The press note of Kamal Haasan started with the actor saying that the shooting of “Vikram” got affected due to the COVID 19 virus like every other production. “Hosting Bigg Boss is something I do with all my heart. We were very careful on planning the schedules in order to not affect the shooting of “Vikram”. “Even when I got infected with COVID 19 virus, I met the contestants and fans through video conference and started hosting the show the very next day I got cured. The show ended successfully” Kamal said in his note.

Further, Kamal Haasan said that he felt extremely proud hosting the OTT version of the show as Disney plus hoststar trying out an new experiment of covering the contestants 24/7. “Due to lockdown norms, shoot days of Vikram got postponed several times and I had to change schedules accordingly” Kamal said.

“As the film’s shooting is nearing its end, changes in the schedule of other actors and technicians were changed and I couldn’t handle both “Bigg Boss ultimate” and “Vikram” shooting. It is not fair to make India’s important actors, technicians and experts wait due to my personal reasons. The job they accepted to do is waiting for them and I have decided to opt myself out from hosting Bigg Boss Ultimate show after shooting for the episode of 20th February with a heavy heart” Kamal said in his press note.

“This is a biggest disappointment for me as I am going to miss the show which I have been a part ever since it got inaugurated in Tamil. Vijay TV ahs cooperated with me well in this decision. The love and support I am getting from Vijay TV and Disney plus Hotstar is making me feel emotional. I am also expressing my regret to them. This is a very small and temporary break and would meet you all soon in season 6 of Bigg Boss” the actor ended his note.
