After the pictures and videos of herself partying with her friends at home got leaked in social media platforms, Sanna Marin, Prime minister of Finland came up with an apology on Tuesday. The next day, the 36 year old came up with a forceful defense, stating about her her work record and her right to a private life after criticism sparked by a video of herself partying.

On Tuesday, Marin was forced to apologize for a picture that was taken at her residence. It showed two women kissing and lifting their tops and covering their breasts with a sign that said “Finland”. The picture was first published on a Tik Tok account by a former Miss Finland contestant and social media influencer who appeared in the video.

Last week, a video got surfaced in internet showing Marin dancing and partying with a group of her friends and celebrities. The video caused headlines across the globe with public reacting in various ways.

The moves of the Prime minister got criticized by some as an inappropriate behaviour for a person of her stature, while others have defended her right to enjoy a private event with friends. Few even suspected Marin of consuming narcotis based on the vide that got leaked and caused a huge debate on social media. However, the Prime minister strongly denied it, saying that she took a drug test to put an end to the speculation about illegal substance use. On Monday, Martin reported that the results were negative and added thatshe paid for the test herself.

“I am human. And I too sometimes long for joy. light and sun amidst these dark clouds” Sanna Marin said as she fought to hold back tears at her Social Democratic Party’s event in Lahti city, north of Helsinki. “It’s private, It’s joy, and it’s life” she further said and added “But I haven’t missed a single day of work”

The Finland Prime minister stated that the last week was quite difficult for her. “I want to believe hat people will look at what we do at work rather than what we do in our spare time” she said.
