During the trailer launch of “Manmadha Leelai”, actor Ashok Selvan made an unexpected statement about kissing the heroines of the film while he was infected with COVID 19 virus. The actor’s statement grabbed headlines across all the media portals with fans reacting in various ways.

Directed by Venkat Prabhu who recently gave a blockbuster titled “Maanadu”, has made a film with Ashok Selvan within a very short span and tag lined it as “A Venkat Prabhu” Quickie. The film stars Samyuktha Hegde, Smruthi Venkat and Riya Suman as lead heroines. Premgi has composed music for the film and is not going to be seen in the film.

In the pre release event, Ashok Selvan, while talking about his experience on acting in the film, said that Venkat Prabhu is an emotion to him more than a filmmaker. Thanking the special guests who made it to the event, Ashok opened about the kissing scenes that took place in the film.

The actor said that he kissed the heroines while he was down with COVID 19 virus and requested reporters not to write about it in a light manner. “As it is a “Venkat Prabhu Quickie”, we shot only few days for the film. In between, I got infected with COVID 19 virus. Those were the kisses I gave during my COVID times. But don’t write about this” Ashok said with a smile.

“Though, I kissed during my COVID times, nothing happened to the heroines. So, no women were harmed during the process. After the glimpse got released, many questioned why I chose to do this film. As I know there’s no bad intention in the film, I didn’t bother such questions. I always wanted to be identified as an actor and there’s no boundary for me on what film to do during when” the actor further said.

The film is scheduled to release on first of April and the trailer of it released recently on YouTube. The trailer suggested a coming of age comedy drama about the romantic encounters Ashok Selvan had since his youthful days to adulthood. The trailer hinted about an affair Ashok has post his marriage and a disclaimer was added before the start of the trailer saying “Everyone is Lord Ram until he gets caught- someone who got caught”
