Actor Harish Roy who played a pivotal role in Pan Indian blockbuster movie “KGF”, has said that he is suffering from Thyroid cancer and has no money to battle it. His role as Kasim Chacha in the Yash-starrer gained him widespread acclaim and he had a lengthy screen presence in the film along with the protagonist. The actor’s recent statement about his health has left fans in a shocked state.

Reports suggests that the medicine alone for Harish Roy costs Rs. 3 lakh per month and he sought help from his co-actors and donors. In a recent interaction, Harish revealed that he went through a surgery for the same. The actor shared that he has been struggling with the condition for the past three years and had a swelling in his throat during the shoot of “KGF 2”.

The actor said that he had to grow a long beard during the shooting of “KGF 2”  in order to hide the swelling. Harish, further said that he is looking for more film opportunities in order to get money and complete his treatment.

“Situations will gift you with greatness and also take away things from you. You can’t run away from fate. It’s been 3 years since I had cancer. While acting in KGF, there is a reason why I had grown a long beard. To hide my swelling neck caused because of this illness. I delayed my operation because I had no money initially. I waited till the films were released. Now, the situation is worse and I am in my fourth stage” the actor said while speaking to a media portal.

The actor said that he couldn’t able to breathe and felt suffocated while shooting the climax scene of “KGF” movie. “While shooting for the climax scene, there was a time I couldn’t breathe and suffocated a lot. My throat was taking a toll on me. And I never discussed my illness with my team. I wanted the film to move smoothly” he said.

“I know it’s too late now, but I had no choice I needed money. If I had told people about my illness, I feared that I will not get any movie offers. I have even made a small video on my mobile phone where I have spoken about my situation. I had planned to share that video in my social media accounts in a worse situation. But that didn’t happen yet” he further stated.
