Legendary Filmmaker Bhagyaraj released an explanation video saying that he doesn’t belong to BJP party. He said that he didn’t mean to demean the physically challenged individuals through his statement and also felt sorry for those sentiments of whom he unintentionally hurt.
Followed by legendary musician Ilayaraja who became a victim of online trolls and criticism after he compared social reformer Dr. B. Ambedkar with Prime minister Narendra Modi, now, ace filmmaker K. Bhagyaraj caught in controversy after he reportedly said that people who criticize Narendra Modi must be the babies who born through preterm birth.

In a book releasing function that took place in the BJP office that is located in T. Nagar, Chennai, Filmmaker cum actor Bhagyaraj participated and received the book from Tamil Nadu BJP leader Annamalai.
During his speech, Bhagyaraj lauded Annamalai saying that BJP has chosen a right candidate to lead the party in the Tamil speaking state. On receiving the book which is titled “Prime Minister’s People Welfare Plans – New India 2022”, Bhagyaraj said that it makes him feels extremely proud and honoured.
“People would always criticize him for visiting abroad countries often. I would wonder how would he visit that many countries without rest” said Bhagyaraj according to News 18. “India needs such energetic Prime Minister. It is really hard to face the difficult situations. Negative criticisms keeps flooding against him irrespective of how he acts as PM” said the filmmaker and went on to make a controversial statement.

“Those who criticize Prime minister Modi are the ones who born through preterm birth. Such people won’t speak good things and won’t be ready to listen others as well. Prime minister Modi’s name is written on the hearts of people” the filmmaker further said according to reports.
This statement from Bhagyaraj came in as a shock to public as it came from him days after Ilayaraja landed in soup. Various kind of reactions are surfacing the internet regarding the same. Many shared the screenshot of a tweet shared by Shanthanu against Prime minister Modi years ago.
Now, the veteran filmmaker released a video in his twitter handle, saying that he doesn’t belong BJP party and has always spoke about the ideologies of Tamil leaders throughout his films. “I got shocked after hearing that the words I uttered created a controversy among pubic” Bhagyaraj said in the video.
“There is no connection between physically challenged people and premature babies. I have uttermost concern for the formers and the premature babies wouldn’t have any problem with them physically” Bhagyaraj said.
“I apologize to those who got hurt through my words” he further added. “And the other thing is, I don’t belong to BJP. I born in Tamil Nadu and Tamil is the language that feeds me. Since my childhood, I have been following only Dravidian leaders such as Periyaar, Anna, MGR and Kalaignar and my films reflected it as well. I have also raised voice against caste and religions in my films” the filmmaker further added.
