On seeing the kind of attention she is getting from the cameramen and audience during the ongoing IPL 2022, Lara Van Der Dussen, wife of South African Cricketer Rassie Van Der Dussen, joked that she has adopted Jos Butler as her second husband. She made the statement after Internet and media mistook her as Butler’s wife as she was seen cheering for him from the stands with the wives of other Rajasthan players.

It is very much evident that Jos Butler is in the form of his life in this season of IPL. Smashing three hundreds already, Jos has scored a total of 718 runs so far and became only the sixth player in the history of IPL to achieve the feat. In the last match played by Rajasthan, Jos who started a bit slowly scored 89 runs from 56 balls.
Though the team lost the match to Gujarat Titans, during his innings, Lara was spotted cheering for Jos Butler from the stands. On seeing her often getting excited throughout the innings of Jos Butler, fans mistook her for Butler’s wife. It is notable that the England star’s wife, whose name is Lousie, is not present for the IPL 2022.

Reacting to the speculations, Mrs. Van Der Dussen has now clarified that she isn’t the wife of Butler, but the wife of the South African cricketer Rassie Van Der Dussen, but she will be happy to cheer for Butler.
On the podcast of Rajasthan Royals, Lara, jokingly said “I think I have now adopted Jos as my second husband it seems. I have been known as Lousie, I think that’s what his wife’s name is, I haven’t met her before that makes it worse. People think I’m Jos’s wife. I definitely think it’s because I have been on camera quite a few times”

“Dhanashee (Chahal’s wife) and I cannot control ourselves next to the field as we are quite invested in the cheering. And Jos has been getting 100s as we go along and maybe the excitement has got people thinking probably I’m part of him, so it’s quite interesting. And Rassie has not played as much in the IPL, so I haven’t been able to show the same sentiment to him. So I’ll just adopt the cheering for Jos for now on and enjoy it” She said.
Talking about the photographers who capture her often when Jos bats, Lara said “There are a number of 15 photographers and I don’t know what his name is and it’s strange in every single game as long as Jos bats the camera is on me.”

“Please know that I’m really not Nos Butler’s wife. I’m Rassie’s wife actually. But I’ll take it for now has she is not here. So I’ll take it and support for him now” She concluded.
