For posing for a selfie picture with the directors of “The Family Man -2”, Idumbavanam Karthik of “Naam Tamizhar” party verbally attacked actor Vijay Sethupathi through a tweet. He asked the actor to be grateful to the people of Tamil nadu and criticized him for embracing them in the picture as the duo made a product that allegedly went against the LTTE organisation led by Prabhakaran. It is notable that Vijay Sethupathi left a project named “800” which is a biography of ace Sri lankan spinner Muttiah Muralidharan due to the pressure imposed on him by public and political parties. “Naam Tamizhar” played a huge role in the project getting shelved.

It all started when the trailer of the series released in youtube. Throughout the trailer of the “Family man 2”, we could see Samantha wearing the uniform of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). The dialogues also suggested that there is a hostage situation in Chennai. It has been reported that most part of the website is taking place in Chennai. LTTE also known as Tamil tigers is an organisation that attempted to establish an independent state for Tamils named “Eelam” in Sri lanka.

Along with many, Filmmaker cum Politician Seeman issued a press release warning the crew of “Family man” facing dire consequences if they release the series. He believed that the dialogues and the geographical details mentioned in the recently released trailer, were not unintentional. He urged the series to be banned as it only concentrates on portraying the Tamizh people as “terrorists”.

Recently, a report surfaced saying that Vijay Sethupathi is going to play lead in a project that is going to be directed by Raj & DK, directors of “The Family Man”. The duo, recently uploaded a picture in their official twitter handle with Vijay Sethupathi who is fondly called as “Makkal Selvan” by his fans. “Makkal Selvan in da house! #pppaaaa #kumudhahappyannachi” they wrote as their caption.

Reacting to this post, Idumbavanam Karthik of “Naam Tamizhar” party came up with a tweet criticizing the Tamil actor. “How can you embrace the bad people who degraded Tigers through “The Family man” series and hurt the sentiments of Tamils all over the world ? How can you shamelessly call yourself as a “”Makkal Selvan”? Be grateful, at least a little bit Vijay Sethupathi” he said in his tweet.
