Tamilnadu government officially released a press note clarifying about the details on the investigation that was conducted on how celebrity couple Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivam gave birth to twin babies in just 4 months. Through the note, the couple seemingly followed all the rules to give birth to babies through surrogacy. However, the hospital which helped the couple to go through the surrogacy treatment came under scanner for not following the rules and the government questioned why shouldn’t the hospital’s artificial infertility centre be closed temporarily.

The note said that the couple got married on 11th of March, 2016 and are eligible to give birth to babies through surrogacy.The woman who gave birth to their babies is in right age and she is a mother of a child who is alive, said the note.

The couple’s marriage date has been verified with the registration department, according to the press release. However, family doctor of the couple who suggested them to go through surrogacy by providing a recommendation letter to a private hospital is not reachable, said the health department’s note.

The hospital reportedly failed to maintain the records on the treatment of the patient. The babies were given birth through cesarian. According to ICMR, a hospital should keep the documents of the treatment provided to the couple and the documents about the health state of the woman who gave birth to the children. As the hospital failed to follow such rules, health department questioned why shouldn’t the artificial fertilization centre of the same be closed temporarily and sent a notice.

Ever since Vignesh Shivan made the announcement about giving birth to twin babies 4 months after his marriage, many questions regarding whether the couple followed the laws in order to give birth to the babies through surrogacy are being made in internet platforms by the users of it.

Earlier, Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma. Subramanian had said that the government would seek an explanation from the celebrity couple Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara who welcomed to their twin babies on Sunday. They who got married on 9th of June, welcomed their twin babies through surrogacy on 9th of October.

On the work front, Vignesh Shivan will be directing actor Ajith kumar post his “Thunivu” whereas Nayanthara who was last seen in Chiru’s “Godfather” is expected to be seen in films such “Jawan” of Shah Rukh Khan, “Gold”, “Connect” etc.
