BJP National President Amit Shah will be meeting leaders of Sangh Parivar organisations and like-minded outfits during his visit to Chennai on July 9 to tone up the State unit for facing the Lok Sabha elections next year. This is apart from his meeting with Shakti Kendra office-bearers at booth-level numbering around 15,000 from across the State.BJP State president Tamilisai Soundararajan told Express that the primary objective of Shah’s visit is to prepare the party apparatus for the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls.
SSR Ramadoss, a former Congress MP, VAT Kalivaradan, a former PMK MLA and P Karthiyayini a former Mayor of Vellore Corporation, are among those who would be meeting Amit Shah. Asked whether any leaders from other parties would be joining the BJP in the presence of Shah on Monday, Tamilisai said “Till now, there is no such plan.”From February to April, she toured the State meeting Shakti Kendra office bearers. Now, they would be meeting party president on Monday. Office bearers from Puducherry would also interact with Shah.

She said a few thousand BJP cadre would be according a grand reception to Shah at Chennai airport on July 9. Later, he will have a series of meetings at VGP Golden Beach from 11 am, onwards.
In the evening, he will address over 15,000 Shakti Kendra office-bearers at the same venue.
