The saviors of Bhadra, the dog that was cruelly thrown off the roof for fun by two medical students, have a new horrifying story to share. Shravan Krishnan who has been fostering Bhadra while she was recovering, has shared the story of a Great Dane that he came across on a road in Chennai.
“We got a call from Karthik Selvaraj about a Great Dane which was abandoned in Royapuram. We tried to move him to a hospital but unfortunately he died on the way,” Krishnan stated in his Facebook post.
“Abandoning your dog is the biggest betrayal you could ever do. At least try and leave him at a shelter or seek help from someone. Don’t leave your dog on the road and let him die of starvation and dehydration.”
The practice of owners leaving exotic dog breeds to die on streetside is not a new phenomenon in India.
The horrifying image of the last moment’s of this dog’s life present the picture of an even more painful life.
In the words of the animal activist, “I don’t know your name. I don’t know your age. I don’t know who dumped you. I don’t know your history. I’m sorry that I couldn’t save you and hope you’re in a better place now.”
If you cannot care for your pets, please do not get them home. Period!
