A 11 year old student who was struggling to attend her online classes, managed to buy a smart phone after selling a dozen of mango for Rs. 1,20,000. The miracle took place after a business man named Ameya hete came to known about the hardship of the kid. This gesture of Ameya grabbed headlines with people appreciating his kind heart that stretched to help a girl’s education.

This ongoing pandemic is testing the patience of human beings indeed. People from across the country are suffering with severe financial crisis due to the unemployment COVID 19 created. As citizens of the country are advised to maintain social distancing, the number of job availabilities are decreased which made poor people to go extremes in order to meet ends.
Students of the country are forced to afford a smart phone to study through online amidst the pandemic situation. Several reports on students complaining about not being able to get a smart phone to attend classes have been emerging for past one year. Tulsi Khumari, an 11 year old girl who belongs to Jharkand’s Jamshedpur, was forced to sell mangoes to buy a smart phone amidst the lockdown to attend her academic classes.
Fortunately, a business man from Mumbai became aware of Tulsi’s ordeal through a regional media channel and came forward to help her financially. Instead of providing free money to her, the business man who is identified as Ameya Hete, bought 12 mangoes from Tulsi at a cost of Rs. 10,000 each. He reportedly transferred money to the account of the girl’s father with which he bought a new phone for her.

“I wanted to buy a smartphone but whatever we earned from selling mangoes went into buying ration for the family. Then a ‘Sir’ bought 12 mangoes from me for ₹ 10,000 each. He also bought me a phone,” Tulsi said after buying a smart phone for her studies. “When I heard about her story, it touched my heart. Though there are innumerous children whose struggle with poverty is affecting their education. But what impressed me about Tulsi is her spirit to not give up on the circumstances and make efforts for her dreams” Ameya Hete said who came to know about Tulsi through a social media post of a journalist.
With the money, Tulsi who is currently studying 5th standard, bought a smart phone and study materials for her studies. Padmadevi and Srimal Kumar, parents of the kind thanked Ameya Hete for his immense help.
