Bigg boss 4 contestant, Sanam Shetty (@ungalsanam), has posted her stand on the judgment passed by Chattisgarh High Court. She has asked questions regarding women’s safety. Chattishgarh High Court has said that making out without the consent of the wife is legal. The court has exonerated a man stating that forced or nonconsensual sex between lawfully wedded wife and husband is not rape. This is not applicable if the wife is under the age of 18.

In recent times, ample cases have been lodged by women against domestic violence, marital rapes, and abuses. Women have started to voice out and raise against the violence made on them. At times, the women are not granted the judgments they think they deserve. A recent incident in Chattishgarh has proved to be one such case.
A woman has filed a complaint against her husband on the grounds of sexual harassment and marital rape. The woman has reported that after few days of marriage, she was attacked by her husband, and in-laws were abusing her for dowry. Additionally, they have attacked her physically. However, she has specifically lodged the complaint against her husband, asserting that he has vigorously inserted fingers and radish into the wife’s vagina.
The High court has concluded the case by telling that having sex with a legally wedded wife does not fall under rape. The husband was absolved of any allegations made against him. The court has, however, confirmed the accusation made on him under Section 377 (unnatural sex) of the Indian Penal Code. It has also come to light that a similar case was handled in Mumbai, earlier this month, the man was acquitted as he is the husband of the woman who filed the case.

Earlier the controversial POCSO judgment by Bombay High Court now this. I have nearly lost faith & stopped taking the judgments seriously after the Ram Mandir award. Maybe they are high on Patanjali stuff! Bad, very bad. #maritalrape https://t.co/4pMEcilUjR

If I abuse this verdict using illicit words, I will be behind the bars for “contempt of court” but anyway the need of the hour is that Chattisgarh HC needs to seek a “psychotherapist” with immediate effect. #maritalrape #consentmatters pic.twitter.com/SXXgk8hKxZ
