A report of telegraph India has said that the UP chief minister sent out a clear message to the state’s hospitals by asking them to keep shut about any oxygen crisis. He warned the hospital managements of facing action, said the reports.

In a meeting, Yogi has asked senior administrative and police officers, including divisional commissioners and inspectors general, to crack down on hospitals that discharge patients citing an oxygen shortage or complain to the media about the crisis, according to a senior health department official.

Yogi said that actions against the hospitals that put up notices saying they had no oxygen and the patients should be shifted elsewhere should be initiated. He reportedly said that a probe should be established whether such hospitals deliberately tried to create panic. The chief minister of UP further stated that UP has no scarcity of oxygen and the government is ensuring the availability of gas at every private and government hospitals.

The health department official further stated that the chief minister wanted the officials to ensure that every government and private hospital with 100 or more beds had an oxygen plant. He ordered them to prepare proposals and to send them to chief secretary.

When a follower quoted the statement of Yogi Adithyanath demanding a probe on whether hospitals desliberately trying to create panic, Amya Dastur replied tweeting “Why on Earth would a HOSPITAL try and create panic?!
