Tamil nadu finance minister Dr. P. Thiaga Rajan’s replies to BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan regarding his speech in the GST council meeting are trending in social media platforms. Sharing an article of Times Of India, Coimbatore South MLA Vanathi Srinivasan demanded an apology from PTR for allegedly insulting the democracy and tarnishing the image of the state by verbally abusing Goa’s transport minister Mauvin Godinho.

The transport minister of Goa accused PTR of insulting him by asking him to “shut up” at the GST council meeting. He wanted Tamil nadu chief minister MK Stalin to condemn PTR and convince him to make an apology. “Thiagarajan’s case is that since he comes from a big state, he should have a bigger vote. It’s like saying I am the big brother, you shut up, you small brother” the Goa minister said.

“I take strong offence to the way he conducted himself and expressed himself in the GST council. I want Stalin to condemn his minister for making such a statement and make him apology” he added. Sharing the report, Vanathi Srinivasan, in her tweet said that the behaviour PTR in the GST is the insult to democracy and wanted him to make an apology.

Replying to the tweet, Tamil nadu finance minister Dr P T Rajan askedBJP’s Vanathi to stop tagging him in her lies and suggested her to do some real work for a change. “Are you just a congenital liar, or really that low IQ, that you think anyone insults anyone in a GST council meeting…” he asked in his tweet and went on to add “Wait, wait. Don’t answer that. It’s a trick question…. You’re both!”

PTR seems to have blocked Vanathi Srinivasan after replying her. Capturing the screen shot of it, the latter came up with another tweet saying that he couldn’t accept criticism. “You can call me a liar or a low IQ person but that does not change the truth. Your comments on H. Raja & Sadhguru only reveal your nasty character.” her tweet read. After opposing Sadhguru, it is notable that PTR compared BJP’s H.Raja with a street dog.

Reacting to it, PTR said that he blocked her like a normal person closes a window to avoid a bad smell. “Getting a “good character” certificate from you’d be demeaning. Don’t waste my time pls” he said after mentioning about Vanathi’s statement on a DMK spokesperson “being unhappy that there weren’t more corpses to play politics with”

P T R who was elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election in 2016 and 2021 from Madurai Central, obtained a master’s degree in Operations Research and a Ph.D. in Human Factors Engineering / Engineering Psychology at State University Of New York, Buffalo. He then completed his Master Of Business Administration in Financial Management at MIT Sloan School Of Management. Before his political stint, PTR worked for Standard Chartered Bank, Singapore in the Global Capital Markets division.
