On Tuesday, Narcotics Control Bureau arrested actress Rhea Chakraborty and sent her 14 days of judicial custody. Rhea has been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act for her alleged role in the drugs angle that has emerged during investigation into the June 14 death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

This arrest created huge outrage among the Internet users of Bollywood film industry and fans of it. While some people are supporting the arrest of the actress, many others are standing against it questioning what would happen if she was proven guilty. As we all know, Arnab Goswami’s Republic TV played a huge role in the arrest of the actress.

Now, one of a journalist who was working for the news channel, named as Shantasree Sarkar, has revealed how Arnab Goswami deliberately vilified Rhea Chakraborty in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death through a series of tweets. Shanta said that she quit the channel and is still under notice period. “but I just can’t resist today to throw light upon the aggressive agenda being run by #RepublicTV to vilify #RheaChakraborty . High time I speak out!” her tweet read.

The journalist said that she was asked to take out everything in Sushant’s case but not truth. Sources close to both families agreed that Sushant was depressed but Republic TV ignored it as it didn’t suit their agenda, according to Shree.

Then she was asked to investigate on financial angle in the case. When the account details of Rhea’s father was accessed it didn’t link to the agenda of siphoning of #sushant money for their two flats. “Then I witnessed how my colleagues started harassing any random people who visited Rhea’s apartment, didn’t even give up on asking uncomfortable questions to police & random delivery boys. They thought shouting & pulling a woman’s cloth will make them relevant in the channel!” her tweet read.

For not bringing the story they expected, Shanta was punished to work for 72 hours straight. “journalism is indeed dead in #RepublicTV. Whatever stories I have done so far, I can proudly say, there was never any bias. When time came for me to sell my morals to vilify a woman, I took a stand finally.” her tweet read. She asked the fans of Sushant singh Rajput to remember consuming drugs with her boyfriend isn’t the charge, labelled by the family. “It’s murder & siphoning of funds, which are still being investigated. Being a bengali & a woman, I feel ashamed that this country has lost its tolerance for truth!” her tweet read.
