Mookuthi Amman of Nayanthara and RJ Balaji got released in Disney plus Hotstar on 14th of November. Promotional activities from the film crew have been started and RJ Balaji is busy interacting with his followers in Twitter. The film’s plot revolves around a small time journalist meeting Mookuthi Amman, a Hindu religious god to make people realize the truth behind the fake godmen. Despite of the mediocre making and predictable screenplay, the film is receiving positive reviews from the people for the core message it carried.
Directed by R.J Balaji and Saravanan, the film featured Nayanthara in the title role, with Balaji, Urvashi, Moulee and Ajay Ghosh in supporting roles. The film was produced by Ishari K. Ganesh under Vels Films International. Balaji described Mookuthi Amman as having “all the elements that were there in the devotional films that we grew up watching.” He said it would be “a nostalgic trip, but there will also be a takeaway that is relevant, especially in this present times” without satirising the genre.
Critics praised the performance of Oorvashi and the comedy scenes but criticized the uneven direction and screenplay. Now, to our surprise, a number of online users came up with a couple of screenshots, trolling the makers for using a footage that took place in another film named as “Seeru”.
In “Mookuthi Amman”, towards the climax, when Nayanthara talks to the villain to prove him as fake, it was shown that all the people in the state are watching her speech through the Television. A shirtless man who was eating food in his small house, could be seen watching Nayanthara’s speech in his TV. The same footage was used in “Seeru” it seems. “Mookuthi Amman” was edited by R.K Selva whereas “Seeru” was edited by Lawrence Kishore.
“Seeru” is a film of actor Jeeva that got released on theatres prior COVID 19 outbreak. Jiiva, Riya Suman, Gayathri Krishnaa and Navdeep played the lead roles, with Varun and Sathish in supportive roles in the film. Adding the screenshots, a twitter user asked “Is it because of both the films were made under a same production house ?” by tagging RJ Balaji.

These kind of decodes will take place for the newly released films hereafter as people who are watching it in OTT platforms have ample time to pause, rewind and forward the film as their wish unlike in theatre.
