Even as the fans are raving about the first single Sarvam Thaala Mayam from GV Prakash – Rajiv Menon’s upcoming film, the second song Maya Maya has hit the internet today.

In an interesting move, the makers of the film asked Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai to unveil the song.
Aishwarya Rai, who acted in Rajiv Menon’s Kandukondain Kandukondain, had a lot of good things to say about Sarvam Thaala Mayam.

The melody was written by late acclaimed lyricist NA Muthukumar and is sung by Chinmayi Sripada. “Maya Maya from Sarvam Thala Mayam Thank you @arrahman and @DirRajivMenon for the opportunity Always indebted. Hope you are listening from wherever you are Na. Muthukumar sir(sic),” tweeted Chinmayi.

On seeing the video a twitter user spotted out that Chinmayi’s name was missing in the lyrical video where as the credits for music director, lyricist and filmmaker was appeared. The user wrote “Now why the hell is @Chinmayi‘s name left out from the lyrical video? This is all so bad. Jio studios being pressurized to do so?”

In Telugu lyrical video we could see the credits for the singer appearing in the video. It is really unconventional to see a singer’s credential was denied for a song which was sung by her.

As we all know Chinmayi is one of the leading faces of #MeToo movement in south India. She was announced that her membership from the Tamil dubbing union has been terminated. The union’s harsh move against her is widely perceived as a backlash for speaking out against powerful men in the industry.
However, the union has provided a clerical reason to back the revoking of Chinmayi’s membership. “Sooo given to understand that I have been terminated from the dubbing union. Which means I can longer dub in Tamil films henceforth. The reason stated is that I haven’t paid ‘subscription fees’ for 2 years though this hasn’t stopped them from taking 10% off my dubbing income (sic),” she tweeted.

Check out some of the reaction from her followers for her name not appearing in the lyrical video of “Sarvam Thaala Mayam” :
Since they’re new to this .. i think they forgot it out.. anyway it will be better if a song contains only the song name – singers – film and Composer instead of actors though!

Chinmayi’s husband, actor and filmmaker Rahul Ravindran came in for support to his wife. He said that the Telugu version of this song has a separate card for the singer’s name.
The Telugu version has a separate card for the singers name. Odd don’t you think?

To be fair, they should have added your and Aparna’s name since the video focuses primarily on her. https://t.co/yYGayQBAeE

They do have Sasha’s name as a card in the Telugu lyrical video. My name is missing in the Tamil one.
Aparna’s name should be there, I agree.
