Reacting to the statement made by producer Dil Raju about actor Vijay being the number one actor in Tamil film industry, renowned film distributor Tiruppur Subramanyam issued a statement condemning the Telugu producer. The Tamilnadu theatre association head said that content of the film is number one in Tamil film industry and slammed the Telugu film producer for causing controversy among the fans of Tamilnadu.

Dil Raju is currently producing a film named “Varisu” starting Vijay-Rashmika in the lead roles. The film is slated to release on the special occasion of Pongal festival. “Thunivu” starting Ajith and Manju Warrier is also going to hit screens in the upcoming biggest Tamil film festival.

Fans of both the stars are pretty much pumped up make the film of their favourite star to get success. As both the actors are considered as Arch-rivals in Tamil film industry, fans of both the stars are known for involving in verbal spat between each other in order to prove their favourite one as the best.

After “Jilla” and “Veeram” which competed during the 2014 Pongal festival, this is the first time the duo are going to lock horns. Ahead of the excitements, Dil Raju, producer of “Vaarisu” movie made a statement saying that Vijay is a bigger star than Ajith and he is supposed to get more screens comparing to him.

“In Tamilnadu, Ajith sir’s film is releasing along with my film. It is a known fact that Vijay sir number one in Tamilnadu. The state has a total of 800 screens. Right now, both the films are getting equal number of screens. I’m literally begging for at least 50 plus screens for “Vaarisu” as Vijay sir is a bigger star comparing  to Ajith.

Many fans expressed their displeasure over the statement made by Dil Raju and distributor Thiruppur Subramanyam is one among them. “Just because Dil Raju is making a film with Vijay, he would become number one?” Tiruppur Subramanyam asked in the phone call interview.

“Is he the person who determines number 1, number 2 in India? Let him make a film with Vijay and earn money but this kind of statements are unwanted. Don’t we know who is number 1 and who is number 2 ?? In Tamil cinema, content is number one. I have been seeing it for past 45 years” the veteran further said.

He also questioned Kamal Haasan, Karthi and Jayam Ravi would be considered as number one as their films “Vikram”, “Ponniyin Selvan” became historical blockbusters recently. “Ajith fans and Vijay fans are having strong bonding between each other like brothers. This is unwanted controversy from him” the film distributor said.
