Former ADMK minister D. Jayakumar, through a tweet, blamed government for not preventing the circulation of illegal drug “Ganja” in state Tamil nadu and also pointed out the song of “Viruman” movie which uses the reference of “Ganja” to personify the eyes of heroine. The tweet is receiving various kind of reactions from his followers and from the users of the micro blogging social media platform.

The song “Kanja Poo Kannala” from Viruman became a chartbuster even before the film got released in theatres. Sung by Sid Sriram, music for the song was composed by Yuvan Shankar raja whereas the lyrics were written by Karumathur Manimaran. The song is currently trending it youtube with 40 million plus views and 500 plus like from the public.

“Viruman”, directed by Mutthaiyah of “Kutty Puli”, “Komban” fame, got released on 12th of August. As said, the film marks the debut of Adhithi Shankar, director Shankar’s daughter and Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music. Karthi and Yuvan combo is known for their chartbuster albums such as “Paruthiveeran’, “Paiya” “Naan Mahaan Alla” and few others. Soori, Karunas, Rajkiran, Vaiyapuri, Ilavarasu, Prakash Raj, RK Suresh has joined the supporting cast of the film, cinematography and editing of which was done by Selvakumar S and Venkat Rajeen respectively.

The trailer launch event of the film took place recently in Madurai with the presence of fans and celebrities. With Suriya producing the film through his 2 D Entertainments, the film stars Karthi in the lead role and it is indeed a massive entry for the younger daughter of the Sivaaji maker. While the film is running successfully in theatres, D. Jayakumar, one of the senior leaders of ADMK party who served in various cabinet positions starting from 1991 – Forests, Fisheries, Information Technology, Electricity and Finance, came up with a tweet expressing his disappointment over the lyrics of the film’s song

Uploading a short video from the song, the politician wrote “In Tamil nadu, “Ganja” is freely available in every direction we turn. The DMK government has no ability to prevent it and here comes a song that goes Ganjaa Poo Kannale said the minister through his tweet.
