For instigating public to break the statue of reformer Periyar which is placed opposite to a temple, stunt choreographer Kanal Kannan who predominantly works in Kollywood film industry, has been facing wrath of the public. In a video which is going viral in social media platforms, Kanal Kannan repeated his words three times, thinking that his mic was not working.

“They say that this is the last day of the Hindu religion campaign trip, no it’s not, Today is the beginning” says Kanal Kannan in the video which is trending in social media platforms. “For one day, lakhs and lakhs of people are visiting the Sri Ranganathan temple to get blessings of Lord Shiva. “Statue of a person who said that there’s no God is placed right opposite to the temple” Kannan further said.

The speech of the fight master who is known for doing comic cameo roles in films of top heroes such as Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Ajith, Vijay, Dhanush and others, has created huge outrage among the followers of reformer Periyaar. “Touch it if you dare.. This is not cinema to rope in dupes for stunt scenes” a social media user said whereas another one asked “He is instigating people to break periyar statue and cause social unrest, why isn’t he behind bars?”
