A family that followed a route in their google map, ended up in a stream in Kottayam, Kerala. The family included a three month old baby and they all had a miraculous escape, according to reports. The incident happened at 10 PM on Thursday, according to reports. The car was traveling from Ernakulam to Kumbanad in Pathanamthitta. As soon as the incident happened, various kind of reactions started trending in the social media platforms from the users of Google map.
The incident happened while the car was moving through Nattakkom Bypass to enter MC road from Thiruvathukkal. It is notable that there was heavy flood in many areas around the bypass. Reports suggested that the road is dimly lit during the night time. The car went head-first into the water stream upon reaching the jetty near Parechal bridge.
Dr. Sonia her mother Shoshamma, relative Aneesh and Sonia’s three month old baby, natives of Kumbanad were traveling inside the car. The woman in a shop nearby screamed upon seeing the car land in the stream, followed by which locals rushed to help the family members. The car began sinking after it was caught in heavy current.
All the four were rescued and were moved to a house nearby. Police officials, in a statement to media said that the driver was using a google map to get the route. The car had drifted around 300 metres before passengers were rescued from it.
