“English Is An Overrated Qualification” – Music Director’s Tweet Triggered Netizens !!

Music composer Sean Roldan replied to a series of his followers who criticized him for asking his followers to read “Tamil” more. He said that the assumption of English speakers are intelligent is the biggest ignorance and said that knowing to write and speak English is an overrated qualification. “Speak your mother tongue. Read it and write in it. There’s nothing more to be ashamed of than saying “I am illiterate in my mother tongue”.” the musician wrote in his tweet which is being confronted by many of the twitter users.

These tweets from him triggered many people who misunderstood that Sean is asking people to ignore English completely. One of a twitter user criticized that the post which asks people to talk and write in tamil is in English. He labelled Sean’s tweets as “banal views” and called it as “shit” to receive a reply from Sean who said “I am more than used to people taking things only in a bad sense and missing the point. This was posted mainly for people who shouldn’t get a sense of pride just because they speak a global language. But do ramble on for your cheap thrills.”

Replying to Sean’s tweet, the user said that economists, public policy makers are doing big time research on these language related issues in International arena and called Sean as random guy and termed his tweets as vomit. Sean mocked him back by asking about his net-worth sarcastically. ” Sorry sir. I didn’t know that you are a Canada president and talked rubbish. Can you tell me your net-worth as you are a Global citizen.” he wrote in his tweet.
