Mohan G, director of Tamil film industry came up with a solution to stop people like “Karuppar Kootam” from making such derogatory videos in future. He said that people should ignore films with anti-caste and anti-religious opinions. Mohan is known for his film “Draupathy” which was made of a limited budget of less than Rs 1 crore. It went on to collect 14 crores and surprised the film industry. The film became a subject to controversy since the trailer of it released and believed to be a caste-based film.

Now, reacting to the recent “Karuppar Kootam” controversy, Mohan said that people should save film industry from them. “Karuppar Koottam”, a youtube channel, caught in controversy after the makers of it created several videos abusing the Hindu religion and the Gods of it, mainly targeting Lord Murugan.

Members of BJP led by Coimbatore Urban district secretary CR Nandakumar and leaders of Hindu Munnettra Kazhagam and Vivekananda Peravai said that they can no longer tolerate such “slanders” against their God and religion. They demanded stringent action including arrest, against the Youtuber for his derogatory comments which they believe could lead to a communal trouble.

The Rashtriya Sanatana Seva Sangham and Hindu Makkal Katchi approached their respective city police commissioners and demanded the channel to get a permanent ban for allegedly making intolerable comments against their God and religion. They also seeked immediate arrest against the man. This issue created huge outrage in social media platforms as well. Several cinema celebrities started reacting to it as soon as it grabbed the headlines.

Now, Mohan G, reacting to the issue, said that there is no use in registering complaint against “Karuppar kootam” and in arresting them. “We should save Cinema industry from them. People should understand their minute anti-religious, anti-caste opinions and ignore it.
