Actress Samyuktha who has acted in a number of films in South India, is going to make her theatre appearance again through the upcoming film of actor Dhanush titled “Vaathi”. Through one of the recent interviews, She has issued a bold statement on herself being referred with the mention of her caste name. The actress said that she doesn’t have any compliance with it and asked public and media not to mention her caste name while referring her. It is notable that the actress was being called as Samyuktha “Menon” previously.

“Vaathi” of actor Dhanush is going to hit the screens on 17th of February. In the film, the national award winning actor is expected to play the role of a school teacher. In the film which was simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu, Samyuktha played the role of a school teacher, pairing opposite to Dhanush.

In a recent interview, Samyuktha said that she didn’t like being mentioned with her caste identity. While talking about it, the actress said “Even in the films I’m acting, I have asked the makers to remove “Menon” from my name. I don’t have any compliance with caste identities” the actress said.

“I want media portals to refer me as ” Samyuktha” instead of “Samyuktha Menon” the actress said. The actress’s bold decision is gaining her accolades from all over the public and media portals.

Before “Vaathi”, Samyutha acted in films such as “Kalari”, “July Kaatre” etc. She also appeared in a Tamil and Malayalam bilingual film “Erida”. In the interview, the actress further said that she belongs of Palakkad of Kerala but will speak Malayalam fluently.

“Though I’m interested acting in Tamil films, I was not getting enough opportunities. I rejected few as well. I feel it all happened only for me to pair up with Dhanush sir” she said.

“I’m acting as a Biology teacher of a Government school in this film which is made in a way of highlighting the flaws in school department. I studied only till 12th standard and started acting after that. Everyone should get educated but no one should be compelled what should they study” she further added.
